As with every respectable VCA-style compressor, our VCA excels on drums. It’s super easy to add impact, to extend the tail of any shell or room mic, or to glue everything together so drums feel like a cohesive unit, instead of different mics added up together. PUSH and GLOW can transform the drums from boring, to very exciting in just a slider movement.
Bass ready.
Our VCA on bass can really shine. Because of the super fast attack that VCA features, it can annihilate any transient, making the bass’ attack as smooth as you need it to be. GLOW works like magic on basses too.
Mix bus duty: from glue to violence.
VCA on the mix bus can be as delicate or as aggressive as you need it to be. Between its compression options, PUSH/GLOW saturations and the two different modes, it gets you from subtle glue to full control in just a few moves.
Vocals too? Yessir.
Because of the advanced feature DC that allows you to modify the release’s shape, you can find the perfect release combination of shape and speed that fits any vocal style, from very smooth to powerfully exciting vocals.
Get that loop going.
Loops benefit from our VCA in different ways: is it boring? Squash it and add some saturation. Is it too clean? PUSH is your friend. Kick poking out? Use a very fast attack and let VCA control it exactly the way you need.

MIX makes parallel compression immediate, so you can drive VCA harder, keep the excitement, and blend back just the right amount of control, punch, and aggression.
Classic VCA. Expanded.
Our VCA plug-in wasn’t built by chasing one classic unit and trying to recreate it part for part. It came from years of hands-on experience with VCA-style units, understanding what they do in the real world and asking ourselves: what if that same fast, punchy and classic tone could be dramatically enhanced without losing its identity? Keeping the things that make a VCA-style compressor worth reaching for, and adding useful features to make it even more flexible.
The core of our VCA stays true to the originals: it can glue the various elements of a mix when on a mix bus, it can add as much snap and impact as you want it to, and it can clamp down transients when a source needs fewer spikes, with our extended attack time reaching as fast as 0.1 ms.
But what makes our VCA feel different is everything around that core. PUSH and GLOW give you two distinct saturation flavours: PUSH is the more in-your-face, mid-forward option, while GLOW brings a warmer, wilder, more vintage-style saturation.
Two independent circuits offer two genuinely different attitudes. CLASSIC is fast, modern, and focused, in line with what’s expected with VCA-style compression; VINTAGE is the looser, warmer, dirtier twin, rounding transients, and adding thickness while still keeping that VCA-style feel.
Completed with advanced settings such as soft or hard knee, bypassable in and out transformer emulations, variable sidechain filtering, parallel mix, DC threshold for deeper release shaping, stereo or dual mono behaviour, and final limiting, and VCA becomes much more than a bus compressor with a familiar name.
That is what makes our VCA so powerful. At its core, it still does what a VCA-style compressor would do, but it doesn’t stop there. It gives you the range to shape the compressor around your tracks, so VCA works for you, not the other way around.
