stereo2mono is a batch file utility that scans a folder of audio files and automatically cleans up common mono/stereo delivery issues. It detects stereo files that contain mono audio, converts them to true mono, keeps real stereo untouched, joins matching L/R mono pairs into stereo, converts one-sided stereo files to mono, and can detect panned-mono stereo files. It can also resample, change bit depth, and peak normalise in the same pass.

Mono and stereo are supported. Multi-channel files over 2 channels are skipped.
It analyses the left and right channels and looks for extremely high similarity. When left and right carry the same signal, the file is treated as dual mono and converted to mono using the LEFT channel.
Yes. With Pan Bias enabled, stereo2mono can detect highly correlated stereo files where the same mono source is louder on one side, then convert them to mono by averaging L+R.
Yes. With Strip silent stereo side enabled, stereo2mono converts one-sided stereo files to mono using the active side.
Yes. With Join L/R mono pairs enabled, stereo2mono can detect matching left/right mono files and join them into a true stereo file.
Outputs are written into a new s2m folder inside the selected folder. Subfolder structure is preserved. If an s2m folder already exists, stereo2mono creates s2m_2, then s2m_3, and so on.
Yes. You can resample from 44.1k to 192k and choose Preserve, 16-bit, 24-bit, or 32-bit float. These options can run together with conversion and normalisation, all in one pass.
Peak. Normalisation is to a selectable dBFS peak target.
No. stereo2mono does not require iLok, and it does not require an internet connection to run. It can be activated offline.
